i burn this flesh is a series of drawings made from the ashes of documents and photos taken during the german genocide of the herero and nama people between 1904 and 1908 in what today is reffered to as namibia.

emptied bodies are easier to use invites us to reflect on the act of protest, and the importance of social movements. working with the physical sensations of losing power, and what it means to be stripped of ownership over one's own body. working with forces of various kind, drawing parallels to the simplicity of existence in nature.

rest in prison explores the what it means to exist as black/brown bodies in public, and the impacts of the constant surveillance on these bodies. how the white gaze is being used to imprison, control and categorize, and how to challenge and change that narrative. working with historical tracing with its roots in the long history of colonization and racism.
